Carney Must Compromise
Canada has a new federal government - and it's a case of meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
And with both the Bloc Québécois and the NDP eager to push Canada even further to the left, this government could easily last 12 to 18 months or more.
Unless Alberta pushes back immediately, we could see more federal overreach, more economic damage, and even less respect for Alberta and the West than we’ve seen in the past few years.
During the campaign, the Liberals tried to soften their image.
They made vague promises about “reconciling with the West” and “building Canada into an energy superpower.”
But now that the election is over and they’ve just about clung to power, those promises are already at risk of being discarded.
This is why Alberta must act - and act now.
We’re calling on the Liberal government to prove they meant what they said during the campaign.
Reconciliation with the West shouldn't be just a slogan.
It’s a commitment that must be backed up with real policy changes that reflect Alberta’s priorities and restore fairness to the federation.
Let’s not forget - the Liberals didn’t win a majority, and they certainly didn’t win in the West.
If Prime Minister Carney wants to build trust, preserve national unity, and prove that his government governs for all Canadians, not just central Canada, he must be willing to compromise.
And he can start by implementing the reforms that we've been pushing for at the Free Alberta Strategy for years:
- Repeal the ban on pipelines and tankers off the coast
- Scrap the oil and gas production cap
- Abolish, not just pause, the consumer carbon tax
- Pledge not to hike the industrial carbon tax to compensate
- Cancel the Clean Electricity Regulations
These aren’t radical demands.
They’re the minimum necessary to restore fairness to the federation, respect Alberta’s economy, and meet the promises Carney made during the campaign.
Albertans have been more than patient.
Now it’s time for Ottawa to finally listen.
If Prime Minister Carney truly wants to lead a government that serves all Canadians - not just voters in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa - then he must prove it.
If he refuses, who knows what happens next?
Please sign our petition calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to compromise, and make good on his promises during the campaign.

As per the continuing governance of Canada by the liberal party, it is important that the western provinces actually for a strong opposition union and support each other when legislation gets put forth that is harmful to one or all of western provinces. Such a union will actually be able to be a catalyst for change. In this Alberta really needs to work hand-in-hand with BC Saskatchewan ant Manitoba, and also try to illicit entrepreneurial indigenous groups to come up with an agenda of growth and prosperity leveraging are bountiful natural resources to be able to finance technological advancement so that our country is not left behind further in global technological advancement. Only from a position of economic and social strength, fostering prosperity. Do we have any chance of also having a strong political position within our world.
Also, as it comes to environmental protection, this is best achieved, where a society is successful and primary social problems, such as housing, healthcare, and overall affordability have been successfully solved.
The federal government throwing more money at these issues will not lead to a sustainable solution. Only by truly creating prosperity will these issues be solved and Canadians achieve a better way of life.
I also live in In Switzerland and over the years, have noticed a vast divergent in the prosperity between the two countries in my home, Canton of Zug we have income taxes more than 50% lower, vastly better healthcare, and an overall better standard of living and infrastructure. Fascinating how lower taxes can actually lead to greater prosperity, as it invites, capable individuals and companies. To make their home in such a region leading to greater prosperity, better employment, opportunities, and an overall better standard of living.
Canada should in fact be the wealthiest nation on the planet with all that the land has to offer. Only poor management will make Canada fall short of this goal. It appears such as then happening at an accelerated rate over the past decade.
Our new Prime Minister is an intelligent person and knows how this world works. He should start making decisions based on that knowledge and leave behind any ideology of offering Canada up on the altar of some kind of green ideological dream.. Those dreams turn into nightmares as we have been seeing.
Hopefully, we will actually see some positive change to a more centrist government that will allow free people to make free decisions and create a better country for us all
