Carney Must Compromise
Canada has a new federal government - and it's a case of meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
And with both the Bloc Québécois and the NDP eager to push Canada even further to the left, this government could easily last 12 to 18 months or more.
Unless Alberta pushes back immediately, we could see more federal overreach, more economic damage, and even less respect for Alberta and the West than we’ve seen in the past few years.
During the campaign, the Liberals tried to soften their image.
They made vague promises about “reconciling with the West” and “building Canada into an energy superpower.”
But now that the election is over and they’ve just about clung to power, those promises are already at risk of being discarded.
This is why Alberta must act - and act now.
We’re calling on the Liberal government to prove they meant what they said during the campaign.
Reconciliation with the West shouldn't be just a slogan.
It’s a commitment that must be backed up with real policy changes that reflect Alberta’s priorities and restore fairness to the federation.
Let’s not forget - the Liberals didn’t win a majority, and they certainly didn’t win in the West.
If Prime Minister Carney wants to build trust, preserve national unity, and prove that his government governs for all Canadians, not just central Canada, he must be willing to compromise.
And he can start by implementing the reforms that we've been pushing for at the Free Alberta Strategy for years:
- Repeal the ban on pipelines and tankers off the coast
- Scrap the oil and gas production cap
- Abolish, not just pause, the consumer carbon tax
- Pledge not to hike the industrial carbon tax to compensate
- Cancel the Clean Electricity Regulations
These aren’t radical demands.
They’re the minimum necessary to restore fairness to the federation, respect Alberta’s economy, and meet the promises Carney made during the campaign.
Albertans have been more than patient.
Now it’s time for Ottawa to finally listen.
If Prime Minister Carney truly wants to lead a government that serves all Canadians - not just voters in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa - then he must prove it.
If he refuses, who knows what happens next?
Please sign our petition calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to compromise, and make good on his promises during the campaign.

Same false worldview on energy, gender, individual liberty, debt levels, gov size, excessive regs, excessive union rights, climate and DEI/ESG !!
The #Zeitgeist or mood of the times has changed .. quite a while ago actually !!
The populace everywhere is sick of expensive fake green schemes, mass immigration with weak integration, high taxes, massive debt, bloated gov with far too many overpaid civil servants, woke DEI & ESG schemes, very high rents or high mortgage payments, huge energy costs, huge inflation AND thus declining living standards !!!
Trump did him a huge HUGE favour by bashing Canada as the 51st state. That’s the only reason he won !! The fear of Trump. Not the hope for a better and more unite Canada !!
Canadian unity must be created by uniting policies NOT the continued eastern theft of western wealth .. ie more oil pipelines (1), LNG terminals (2) and mines (3) announced THIS YEAR, far more MPs for the west (4) and cancellation of bill C-69 (5), emission caps (6), CO2 taxes on heavy industries (7) and transfer payments (8).
➡️ I predict 0 of 8 !!
5 or 6 of 8 would create some unity
Mark Carney will likely do NONE !!
